Palmira was known as a ‘bookworm’ throughout her school  years so no surprise she completed  a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Literature!

Born in Portugal she has lived in Brisbane, the Whitsundays (as Personnel Manager for 6 years on South Molle Island where she employed now husband Frank Wilkie) and from 1996 in Peregian Beach.

A varied career within senior roles in Recruitment/Hospitality/Sales ultimately led to working the last 20 years in bookshops commencing at the iconic Written Dimension in Noosa in 1997.

When in a serendipitous turn of events Annie opened her bookshop in Peregian Beach in 2008 Palmira haunted it until Annie employed her in 2009 – it’s no cliché to say Palmira calls Annie’s Books her  ‘happy place’!
